Q. Why is it important
to use metal valleys?
A. Water, dirt and leaves collect in the valleys, which creates
moisture. If metal is not used the life of your roof will
be cut in half. Metal should be used in all terminations.
Q. What is the difference between copper and galvanized?
A. Both products can be used, but copper will out last any
other valley product. Also, copper is architecturally more
beautiful.
Q. Will the shiny copper finish on my weathervane stay
shiny?
A. Even copper that has been treated with gloss finishes
will not hold up to weather conditions. Copper naturally ages
over a period of time to brown, then to patina. If you purchase
the already patina weathervane, you miss the brown stage and
advance 20 years into the life of your copper product.
Q. Why don’t ALL roofing contractors use metal?
A. Always require your contractor to use metal when installing
roofing products. If a contractor bids way under another generally
the cheaper one is NOT using metal.
